Coach in The Hague
For professionals who feel something is no longer working — in work, leadership or collaboration.
When work, your role or collaboration no longer come naturally.
You are functioning.
On the surface, everything seems fine. You work hard, take responsibility and do what needs to be done.
Yet it takes more energy than it used to. Decisions remain unmade. Conversations you know you should have are postponed. Or you find yourself running into the same situation over and over again.
You may be questioning your work. Your role may have changed. Or perhaps collaboration creates more tension than it once did.
People rarely start coaching when they have completely run out of options. They start when work, their role or collaboration require more energy than they should.
What it is really about
What is happening is rarely just personal.
It often seems as though the problem lies with you. That you need more confidence. Better communication. Or clearer decisions.
In practice, there is usually more going on.
You may be carrying responsibility that does not belong to your role. It may be unclear what is actually expected of you. Or you may be trying to solve a problem that is not yours to solve.
Coaching helps make visible what is actually happening, so it becomes clear what is yours to carry — and what is not.
That is often where the space emerges to regain direction, make decisions and act with greater clarity.
Coaching
The starting point differs.
Some people come with a leadership question. Others because of their work or a pattern that keeps repeating itself.
What is happening often touches the same underlying layer.
Leadership coaching
For leaders who notice their position no longer feels self-evident.
When you carry responsibility, but your place within the system is no longer clear.
CAREER COACHING
For professionals who know their work no longer fits and want clarity about their next direction.
When everything still looks right on paper, but no longer feels right to you.
SYSTEMIC COACHING
Systemic coaching for professionals who notice the same patterns keep returning.
When circumstances change, but the underlying pattern remains the same.
Coaching in The Hague
Sessions take place in The Hague, on the edge of Scheveningen.
Clients come from The Hague, Rotterdam, Leiden, Wassenaar, Voorburg, Leidschendam, Rijswijk, Delft and across the Randstad.
Some seek coaching because of questions about work or career. Others find themselves stuck in leadership or notice the same patterns returning time and again.
The reason for coming differs. The goal is often the same: to understand what is really happening and determine what the situation requires of you.
Sessions preferably take place in person in The Hague, or online when that better suits your situation.
About Tristan van der Hoeven
Many people start coaching because something is no longer working in their professional life. A next step remains unclear. A situation keeps returning. Their role demands more than before. Or they simply sense that something is no longer right, without knowing exactly why.
In practice, these questions are rarely just about work. Beneath the surface are often questions about responsibility, position, collaboration, expectations or the choices made along the way.
As an organisational psychologist and NOBCO-accredited Senior Practitioner coach, I help uncover what is really happening. Not by providing solutions, but by exploring together what the situation requires and what is yours to carry.
My background is in organisational psychology, coaching, leadership development and systemic work. Through Growth Center, I work with professionals, leaders and organisations in The Hague and throughout the Netherlands.
That does not always lead to easy answers. It does lead to greater clarity about what is happening, what responsibility belongs to you and what the right next step is.
“
I worked with Tristan at Growth Center in The Hague to explore the areas in which I wanted to grow and develop. Tristan is a thoughtful and highly effective coach with whom I could discuss any question. It was a genuinely valuable experience.

Frequently asked questions about coaching in The Hague
Why do people come to Growth Center?
People do not come to Growth Center because they are looking for more tips, insights or techniques. They come because something important keeps returning. In their work, leadership or collaboration. Because what looks right on paper continues to create friction in practice.
Sometimes it is about the next step in their career. Sometimes about a difficult situation at work. Sometimes about a pattern that keeps repeating itself. The reason differs. The underlying question is often the same: what is really happening here, and what does this situation require of me?
Coaching at Growth Center does not begin with a method. It begins by understanding what is actually happening, so it becomes clear what is yours to carry and what the right next step is.
Which type of coaching is right for me?
The starting point differs. Some people come with a leadership question. Others question their work or keep running into the same patterns. What initially seem like different questions often turn out to be closely connected.
During an initial conversation, we explore what is happening and which form of coaching best fits your situation. That may be leadership coaching, career coaching or systemic coaching. Sometimes the question beneath the question turns out to matter more than the reason you came in with.
When is leadership coaching the right choice?
Leadership coaching is appropriate when responsibility, decision-making or collaboration come under pressure. For example, when conversations keep getting stuck, decisions continue to resurface or your position no longer feels as self-evident as it once did.
It is rarely just about developing skills. More often, the real question is about the position you occupy, what the situation requires of you and what responsibility is truly yours.
How many coaching sessions will I need?
That depends on your question. Some people gain enough clarity after just a few sessions to move forward independently. Others need more time and space.
The goal of coaching is not to keep you in a programme for as long as possible. The goal is to create enough clarity and movement for you to make decisions independently and move forward with confidence.
A typical coaching programme consists of six sessions of 90 minutes.
Can coaching be funded by my employer?
Yes. Many employers have training, development or wellbeing budgets that can be used for coaching. This is especially common when the coaching relates to leadership, performance, collaboration or career development.
Coaching may also form part of a broader organisational development programme.
Do you only work with clients from The Hague?
No. Although most sessions take place at Growth Center in The Hague, many clients come from across the Randstad and other parts of the Netherlands. Most sessions are in Dutch, but I also regularly coach in English.
I also work with clients who live abroad and schedule their sessions online.
Tailor-made programmes, such as coaching for management teams, can take place at Growth Center, at the client’s location or at an external venue.
In short, most clients come from the Randstad and choose in-person sessions, while online coaching is available whenever it better suits the situation.
